Arkansas is served by road from the Mariner Containers depot at 153 FM 1564, Greenville, TX 75402, out on I-30 through Texarkana. Little Rock is about 272 road miles and roughly four and three quarter hours. Northwest Arkansas around Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville is about 327 miles and roughly six hours. Both are single-day hauls, and shipping is a flat $450 per order.
Routing across the state
I-30 carries deliveries through Texarkana, Hope and Arkadelphia into Little Rock, where I-40 takes over for Conway, Russellville, Fort Smith and the river valley, and I-49 runs north into the Ozarks and Northwest Arkansas. Delta addresses east of Little Rock come off I-40 and US-65 and are generally flat, open and easy to deliver into. The Ozark routes are the awkward ones: grade, curves and tree cover, on roads where a tilt-bed has less room to work.
What Arkansas buys containers for
- Poultry and agricultural storage across the river valley and the north west: feed, equipment, litter handling gear and general farm storage.
- Contractor and equipment stores on the Northwest Arkansas construction pipeline, which has been one of the busiest build markets in the region.
- Distribution and dry goods storage along the I-40 and I-30 corridors, adding covered space without leasing warehouse bay.
- Hunting camp, timber and rural property storage where a container is often the only secure structure on the land.

Siting on Ozark and Delta ground
The two halves of the state present opposite problems.
In the Ozarks and the north west, the issue is grade and rock. Bearing capacity is usually excellent, but almost nothing is level. A container has to sit level on all four corner castings or the frame racks, the door frame twists and the gaskets stop sealing. Budget for levelling blocks, a poured pad or a compacted gravel base, and check the approach against the roughly 100 ft of straight, level run a 40 ft tilt-bed delivery needs. On a wooded, sloping lot, two 20 ft units will often place where one 40 ft cannot.
In the Delta and the river valley, the issue is soft ground and water. Approaches turn to mud after rain, and a container left sitting on wet soil corrodes at the floor edge. Set it up on blocks, ties or gravel, and be ready to reschedule a delivery rather than let a loaded truck sink into a field.
Arkansas rules
There is no statewide container permit. County land outside city limits is usually unrestricted for a storage container on private property, while cities apply their own zoning ordinances and some restrict containers in residential districts. Northwest Arkansas municipalities have become notably more prescriptive as the area has grown, so check locally rather than assuming. HOA covenants apply separately, and a container that is occupied, plumbed or wired is treated as a building and needs a permit wherever it sits.
Arkansas: common questions
Does Mariner Containers deliver to Arkansas?
Yes, by road from the Greenville, TX depot via I-30. Little Rock is about 272 road miles and roughly four and three quarter hours. Northwest Arkansas around Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville is about 327 miles and roughly six hours.
What are containers used for in Arkansas?
Poultry and agricultural storage across the river valley and the northwest, contractor and equipment stores on the fast-growing Northwest Arkansas build sites, and general dry storage for distribution operations along the I-40 and I-30 corridors.
How should a container be sited in the Ozarks?
Sloping, rocky ground is the usual problem. The container must sit level on all four corner castings or the doors will bind and stop sealing, so budget for levelling blocks, a poured pad or a compacted gravel base. A sloping or wooded approach also needs checking against the roughly 100 ft of straight clearance a 40 ft tilt-bed delivery needs.
