East Texas is our home region. The Mariner Containers depot at 153 FM 1564, Greenville, TX 75402 sits in Hunt County, which puts Tyler about 75 road miles away, roughly an hour and a half of haulage. Sulphur Springs, Paris, Commerce, Mount Pleasant, Athens, Canton, Longview and Mineola are all inside a two-hour radius.
The shortest haul we run
Carriers reach Tyler from Greenville via SH-34 and US-69, or via I-20 through Canton and Lindale. It is short, simple routing on roads that regularly carry oversize agricultural and oilfield loads, so East Texas deliveries are the least likely of any market to be delayed by routing problems. Everything else being equal, they schedule at the short end of our standard 3 to 10 business day window.
Being close does not change the price: shipping is a flat $450 per order here as it is everywhere. What proximity buys you is flexibility on scheduling and the practical option of coming to look at a unit before you commit.
Viewing before you buy
Because the yard is local, East Texas buyers can often arrange to see a unit in person rather than working from photographs. Viewing depends on where the specific container is sitting, on yard safety rules and on scheduling, so it is never automatic. Call +1 430 280 1063 or email info@marinercontainers.com to ask before you travel.
What East Texas buys
- 20 ft standard containers for farm, ranch and small-acreage storage: implements, feed, tools, hunting and fishing gear.
- 40 ft units for timber, poultry and oilfield operations that need bulk covered storage without putting up a building.
- 10 ft and cut-down units where a lot is small or the approach is tight, and for yard and workshop stores.
- Raised bunded stores for fuel, oils and chemicals that need containment underneath.
- Modular cabins as deer camps, site offices and workshops.

Ground preparation in East Texas
East Texas ground is the main thing to plan for. A lot of it is heavy clay that holds water and goes soft after rain, and a loaded tilt-bed will cut into it. Two consequences. First, check the approach after wet weather and reschedule if the truck cannot get in without sinking. Second, do not set the container directly on soil: concrete blocks, railroad ties or a compacted gravel pad under the four corner castings keeps the frame carrying the load, keeps the floor edge clear of standing water, and keeps the unit level so the doors keep sealing.
Local rules
Unincorporated Hunt, Smith, Van Zandt, Hopkins and Wood county land is generally permissive about storage containers on private property. Inside city limits, Tyler, Longview, Greenville, Sulphur Springs and Paris each apply their own zoning ordinance, and residential districts are where restrictions usually bite. As anywhere, a container that will be occupied, plumbed or wired is treated as a building and needs a permit. Check locally before delivery.
Tyler and East Texas: common questions
How close is the depot to Tyler?
Tyler is about 75 road miles from the Greenville depot, roughly an hour and a half of haulage. Most of East Texas, including Longview, Sulphur Springs, Paris, Athens and Mount Pleasant, is inside a two-hour radius.
Can I collect a container myself from Greenville?
Collection depends on the unit, the yard schedule and your equipment: a loaded container needs a tilt-bed, a side-lifter or a crane, not a flatbed and a forklift. Call +1 430 280 1063 before assuming collection, and note that the online checkout applies the flat $450 shipping charge to every order.
What ground preparation do East Texas sites need?
East Texas has a lot of soft, clay-heavy ground that holds water. Set the container on concrete blocks, railroad ties or a gravel pad at the four corner castings so the frame carries the load and the floor edge sits clear of standing water. Never set a container straight onto wet soil and expect it to stay level.
