Shipping Policy

Effective Date: June 13, 2024

This Shipping Policy explains how freight delivery, scheduling, logistics coordination, and risk allocation work for orders placed with Mariner Containers (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Shipping containers and container cabins are heavy, oversized industrial freight units that require specialized transportation and site preparation.

By placing an order, submitting payment, or scheduling delivery, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this Shipping Policy.

1. Delivery Coverage

Mariner Containers provides delivery:

  • Across the continental United States (subject to carrier access and routing availability)
  • To select international destinations by special arrangement

Delivery availability may vary depending on regional freight access, road restrictions, permitting requirements, and equipment availability.

2. Nature of Freight Delivery

Shipping containers (4ft–40ft and larger units) are delivered as oversized freight. Delivery requires specialized equipment and may involve coordination with third-party carriers.

Delivery conditions vary by:

  • Container size and weight
  • Delivery ZIP code and distance from dispatch location
  • Urban vs. rural access
  • Site accessibility and terrain conditions
  • Local regulations or municipal restrictions
3. Shipping Costs and Pricing Structure

Delivery costs are not uniform and are calculated based on logistical requirements.

Shipping fees may vary depending on:

  • Container size (e.g., 20ft, 40ft, high cube, modified units)
  • Distance to delivery site
  • Required delivery method (tilt-bed, flatbed, chassis, crane-assisted)
  • Site accessibility challenges
  • Permit requirements or restricted access zones
  • Urgent or expedited delivery requests

Unless explicitly stated in writing:

  • Product prices do not automatically include delivery.
  • Delivery pricing is confirmed prior to dispatch scheduling.

Final freight charges must be agreed upon before shipment is released.

4. Estimated Delivery Timeframes

For most U.S. deliveries, estimated transit time is typically between 3–10 business days after payment confirmation and logistics verification.

These timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delivery may be affected by:

  • Carrier scheduling constraints
  • Weather conditions
  • Traffic or route restrictions
  • Permit or municipal approval delays
  • Mechanical issues with freight equipment
  • High seasonal freight demand

Mariner Containers is not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers or events outside our reasonable control.

5. Order Processing and Dispatch

An order will be prepared for dispatch only after:

  • Full payment (or agreed deposit) has been received and cleared;
  • Delivery address and site conditions have been verified;
  • Freight pricing has been confirmed.

We reserve the right to delay dispatch if required delivery information is incomplete or inaccurate.

6. Delivery Methods

Containers may be delivered using one or more of the following methods:

  • Tilt-bed truck (commonly used for direct ground placement)
  • Flatbed trailer (customer may need to arrange unloading)
  • Chassis delivery (commonly for port or industrial sites)
  • Crane-assisted placement (where required and arranged)

The delivery method is determined based on container type, site conditions, and carrier availability.

7. Customer Site Requirements

The customer is solely responsible for ensuring the delivery site is safe, accessible, and suitable for container placement.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Clear access for large commercial trucks
  • Adequate turning radius and maneuvering space
  • Stable, level ground capable of supporting container weight
  • No overhead obstructions (power lines, tree branches, structures)
  • Compliance with local zoning or permit requirements
  • Availability of a responsible party onsite during delivery (if required)

If the delivery cannot be completed due to site inaccessibility or unsafe conditions, the customer may be responsible for:

  • Redelivery fees
  • Carrier waiting time charges
  • Return freight charges
  • Storage fees
8. Risk of Loss and Title Transfer

Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon successful delivery at the designated location.

Once the container is offloaded at the agreed delivery address, the customer assumes responsibility for the unit, including damage, theft, relocation, or site-related issues.

9. Inspection Upon Delivery

Containers are industrial products and may show cosmetic wear consistent with their condition classification (new, used, cargo-worthy, wind and watertight, etc.).

Upon delivery, customers should:

  • Inspect the container externally and internally where feasible;
  • Confirm correct size and condition category;
  • Document visible transport damage immediately.

Claims related to transport damage should be documented with photographs and reported promptly.

10. Delivery Refusal

Refusal of delivery without valid cause may result in additional freight, handling, and administrative fees.

Custom-modified containers may not be eligible for refusal or return once dispatched.

11. Force Majeure

Mariner Containers is not liable for delays or failure to deliver resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather or natural disasters
  • Road closures
  • Labor strikes
  • Port congestion
  • Government restrictions
  • Carrier equipment failures
12. International Shipping

International shipments may involve:

  • Port handling procedures
  • Customs clearance documentation
  • Import duties and taxes
  • Extended transit times

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, international customers are responsible for compliance with local import laws and payment of applicable duties, VAT, and customs fees.

13. Communication and Scheduling

Where appointment scheduling is required, customers must ensure availability during the agreed delivery window.

Failure to be available at the scheduled time may result in rescheduling fees imposed by the carrier.

14. Questions Prior to Ordering

Due to the complexity of freight delivery, customers are encouraged to confirm:

  • Container specifications
  • Delivery access suitability
  • Ground preparation requirements
  • Timeline expectations

Questions may be directed to info@marinercontainers.com prior to purchase.
